语法讲解一： 结果状语从句     

一、so / such … that … 句型

1. 含义：翻译为“如此……以至于……”，that后接结果状语从句，表示这一程度会造成的结果。

2. 基本结构：

（1） so+形容词 / 副词+that 从句

He runs so fast that nobody can catch up with him.(接副词)

他跑得非常得快，没人能追上他。

It was so cold outside that we had to stop the game.(接形容词)

外面太冷了以至于我们不得不停止比赛。

(2) such+a（n）+形容词+名词(单数or复数)+that从句

He lives in such a noisy building that he can not sleep at night. (接a+形容词+可数名词单数)

他住在一间如此嘈杂的大楼里，以至于晚上无法入睡。

The teacher often tells us such funny stories that make us laugh.

老师经常讲如此有趣的故事来逗我们笑。(接形容词+可数名词复数)

That is such good news that I can not help laughing.(接形容词+不可数名词)  那是一个如此好的消息，以至于我忍不住地笑了。

(3)  So...that...的特殊情况：

当表示由于事物的数量所引起的结果时，使用以下结构：

①so+many / few+可数名词复数形式+that从句

There are so few photos here that we should cherish them.

这里的照片如此少，我们应该珍惜它们。

②so+much / little+不可数名词+that从句

There is so little milk in the fridge that we should go to buy some.

 冰箱里只有这么点儿牛奶了，我们应该去买些。

二、too … to … 和enough to 句型

1. 含义：通常可译为"太……而不能……"、"太……无法……”，这一句型用来表示否定意义的结果。

2. 基本结构：

 (1)“too+形容词 / 副词+（for sb.） to do sth.”意为“（对某人来说）……太……而不能做某事”。

The boy is too young to go to school.(接形容词)

这男孩年龄太小,不能上学.

She walks too fast（for us） to follow. (接副词)
